An ethical will is different from a normal will. A normal will concerns primarily the distribution of assets and property. An ethical will is a bequest of your values. It can be a letter, or an audio or video recording meant for loved ones to let them know how you want them to remember you and how you remember them. Often used in hospice, legal practitioners can enrich their estate planning practice by inviting clients to answer a series of questions that convey lessons, traditions, values, hopes, dreams and even mistakes.
This presentation will involve the use of prompts to invite practitioners to initiate their own ethical will and how they would like to be remembered.
