Please join the Denver Bar Association's Metro Volunteer Lawyers for a CLE on simple family law cases, including basic procedures and important things to know.
 
This CLE will prepare you to make a positive difference in underserved comunities. Consider volunteering your time by signing up for pro bono opportunites with the Family Law Court Program.
 
Speakers:
 
Judge Edward Moss (retired) was a District Court Judge for Broomfield and Adams counties for 16 years before his retirement in 2020. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara after which he  served in the U.S. Army as an armor platoon leader and armor company executive officer.  Judge Moss received his legal training at Southwestern University School of Law in Los Angeles and at the Georgetown Law Center in Washington, D.C.
He was a judicial intern at the U. S. Supreme Court and then served as a law clerk to Judge Sherman Finesilver in the U.S. District Court in Denver.  He was in private practice for more than 25 years, primarily in the areas of oil and gas, real estate, family law, and commercial litigation.
Before being appointed to the bench, Ed was named a Metro-Denver Volunteer Lawyer of the Year and was the mayor of Westminster, Colorado. He is a long-time member of the Colorado Bar Association Ethics Committee (Chair, 2016-17). Ed was on the faculty of the 2013 National College on Judicial Ethics in Chicago and was the keynote speaker in 2015.  
Currently, he is “of counsel” with the Denver law firm of Ciancio Ciancio Brown, P.C. where his practice is limited to mediation, arbitration, and private judging.
Sahar P. Safi, Esq. practices exclusively in family law, including dissolution of marriage actions, allocation of parental responsibilities cases, post-decree modifications, and child support actions. A Colorado native, Sahar attended the University of Colorado School of Law where she was a CBA/DBA Diversity in the Legal Profession Scholarship Recipient, and was honored to be named the Outstanding Asian Pacific American Law Graduate.
 
Prior to attending law school, Sahar earned a Master's Degree from the University of Denver in International Studies, focusing on Development and Human Rights, in addition to graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor's Degree from the same university, where she majored in Political Science and International Studies.
 
Sahar is deeply committed to helping individuals navigate the course of their family law matter and was previously the Family Law Court Program Coordinator for the Denver Bar Association's Metro Volunteer Lawyers prior to shifting to private practice.
