DBA YLD Jeffersonian Dinner

Two of the greatest philosophers to discuss free will and punishment arose out of a 1980s comic strip. One was modeled after John Calvin, the 16th century French Historian known for his work on pre-determination. The other was created in the likeness of Thomas Hobbes, famous for his beliefs of how life was “brutish, nasty, and short” when living in a “state of nature”. These two philosophers broke down the concepts of free will, incentives, and punishment in an easily-digestible format: the Sunday funnies.

Guests of the Jeffersonian Dinner will be sat at tables of 6 – 8 for a philosophical discussion over some of the best Italian food in LoDo. Join us as we get to the bottom of whether humans have free will, and whether the answer impacts how the legal system deals with blame, punishment and damages.

One ticket affords a four-course dinner, including desert, and one alcoholic beverage – and of course, access to a thoughtful discission on free will with some of the sharpest minds in Denver. Save your powdered wigs for a less-saucy occasion, but don’t miss out on this unique opportunity to gain and share perspective over a fantastic meal!
