Cybersecurity: Protecting Your Company and Customer Data

When:  Jul 17, 2019

Law firms face unique challenges when it comes to cybersecurity. Attorneys have a professional obligation to their clients to protect confidential information. A data breach can expose them to legal malpractice liability for negligence, not to mention loss of reputation. Law firms are also vulnerable to the same cyber threats plaguing all companies.
In this session we will identify some of the most common threats targeting law firms including social engineering through phishing, pretexting and email hijacking, automated threats such as ransomware and spyware, and direct hacking attacks. We will weigh the risks, contrasting the likelihood and impact of various types of attacks. Technical and non-technical risk mitigation strategies will be discussed.
