Three learning objectives:
WHO: Understanding the importance of selecting the appropriate workplace investigator and ethical ramifications of choosing poorly.

WHAT: exploring how the conduct and structure of an investigation can create unintended ethical consequences. For example, ensuring that employees understand their rights and what is expected of them during an investigation, is one way to avoid potential ethical pitfalls.

WHERE: the very dangerous mistake lawyers make: do you know the regulatory restrictions regarding multi-jurisdictional workplace investigations?

Presenters:
Elizabeth Rita
CEO and Senior Investigator
Liz read every Nancy Drew book as a kid, as soon as it came out, which may have been a clue about where her professional life would take her. Liz has been providing impartial investigations to clients in Colorado and around the country since 1994. She specializes in complex investigations in the workplace and her practice has run the gamut from workplace culture evaluations, class-based discrimination investigations, hostile work environment, retaliation, whistle-blower, ethics violations, rape and sexual assault, executive misconduct and corruption investigations. Liz sits on the Board of Directors of the Association of Workplace Investigators, and is the co-author of Workplace Investigations in Colorado, Practitioner’s Guide to Colorado Employment Law (January 2018). Liz grew up in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin and so (of course) her favorite beer is Leinenkugel’s Original.
