"Ethical Issues in Internal Investigations"

During the presentation, we will discuss the importance of identifying the client for the purposes of an investigation and clearly defining the scope of the investigation. In addition, issues that arise during internal investigations involving the attorney-client privilege and attorney work product, including to whom the privilege is owed, joint defense/common interest privilege, and privilege issues in foreign jurisdiction will be discussed. Finally, we will discuss best practices for document preservation and collection, conducting witness interviews, and delivering the results of internal investigations.
