Resident Rights in Nursing Homes and Assisted Living Facilities: A Conversation with the Colorado State Long-Term Care Ombudsman
The Colorado State Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Leah McMahon, will present to the Colorado Bar Association on December 6, 2023. Ms. McMahon will provide an overview of the Long-Term Care Ombudsman Program, including the structure of the program in Colorado and the roles and responsibilities of the State Ombudsman and the local Ombudsman representatives. Gina Viola Brown, the former Colorado Legal Assistance Developer, will briefly discuss the Colorado Legal Assistance Program and some common legal issues raised by residents in nursing homes and assisted living facilities. Both presenters will discuss policy and provide case scenarios for engagement with the attendees.
