The FTC Abolished Non-Competes: What That Means for Your Clients
×
When:
May 16, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 01:00 PM (MT)
This meeting is open to all members of the CBA Business Law section.
Description: The Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) recently promulgated a new rule that effectively abolishes the vast majority of non-compete agreements. While the rule allows for some limited exceptions, this rule will substantially change how many companies approach their employment agreements. Diane Hazel will discuss what this means for your companies or clients, how this rule interacts with state law, the potential legal challenges the FTC will face, and other general enforcement priorities in the labor and competition space.
Bio: Diane Hazel, a former Federal Trade Commission lawyer and state enforcer, represents clients in government investigations, mergers and acquisitions, antitrust litigation, and other white collar, class action, and commercial litigation matters. She is a partner in the firm’s Denver office and a member of the Antitrust Practice.
