Program Description:  
This program highlights the regularly overlooked advantages of mediation conducted in face-to-face dialogue. This discussion format returns power to the parties while simultaneously giving parties a deeper understanding of the opposing party’s case, their own case and options for resolution  
 
Speaker Bios:  
 
 
Jennifer Sullivan is Colorado’s deputy attorney general of the State Services Section, Previously she served as the assistant dean for Strategic Initiatives and on the faculty at the University of Colorado Law School and maintained a mediation and litigation practice with Sullivan Cohen LLC. She served on the Board of Directors for Focus Reentry, and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Center for Understanding in Conflict. Sullivan clerked for Judge W. Royal Furgeson, Jr. at the United States District Court for the Western District of Texas. She earned her B.A. at Case Western Reserve University and J.D. at Duke University.  
 
 
Joseph McMahon has been working on ADR in various roles since the early 1990s. His practice includes arbitration, mediation and facilitation. Earlier in his career and for approximately 25 years, Joe worked with a large Denver law firm in natural resource litigation. He has been a frequent author and presenter on ADR related issues and has also worked in international development projects in Asia and Africa.
