Securities Luncheon

When:  Feb 6, 2020
  •
  • For its first program of 2020, the Securities Subsection is honored to present an informative Q&A session with J. Robert Brown, Jr., Board Member of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (PCAOB). As you know, the PCAOB was established by Congress to oversee the audits of public companies and SEC-registered brokers and dealers. Denver’s own Jay Brown was appointed as a Board Member of the PCAOB by the Securities and Exchange Commission in December 2017, and sworn in on February 1, 2018. Before joining the PCAOB, Jay Brown was the Lawrence W. Treece Professor of Corporate Governance and Director of the Corporate and Commercial Law Program at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law. Come enjoy a great lunch with your fellow Securities Law practitioners at our new venue for 2020, the Denver ChopHouse & Brewery, and learn about challenges and opportunities currently facing the auditing profession, as well as the PCAOB’s latest initiatives. Subsection Vice-Chair, Brian Neil Hoffman, Holland & Hart, will moderate the discussion with Jay Brown and will be sure to save time at the end for audience questions.
