Join Gurney as he draws on his war crimes prosecution experience to explore the depiction of war crimes in the Star Wars universe, starting with Episode I: A New Hope. Topics in Episode I include the legality of targeting fleeing Rebels, Vader's detention and interrogation of Princess Leia as his detainee, and the ethical quandaries of blowing up entire planets.

Mr. Pearsall practices family law and appellate litigation with his sister at Pearsall Law Firm, PC As a captain in the US Army Reserves JAG Corps, he has had the opportunity to work with the Pentagon's war crimes prosecutors. And as a lifelong Star Wars fan, he has put together what he has learned from the films and from his prosecution experience to discuss the depiction of potential war crimes in the Star Wars films, one film at a time!
