Topic:
"Federal Nursing Home and Assisted Living Regulations Update"

Ashley Reese and her colleagues from Boulder County Area Agency on Aging Long-term Care Ombudsman (LTCO) program, will discuss the federal nursing home regulations and Colorado’s state assisted living regulations rewritten in the past year. This discussion will include how and why the regulations changed, the issues the LTCO has faced since the regulations changed, and practice pointers for attorneys representing residents or families of residents in such health care facilities.
The LTCO helps residents link to resources and services, identifies, investigates, and problem-solves residents’ concerns about care and their rights as residents, assist staff in meeting the needs and concerns of residents through education and consultation, and provide information to the community about long-term care and about local options.
