The classic employment dispute is between employer and employee, wherein the employee alleges he or she was subjected to unlawful discrimination, harassment, or retaliation by a supervisor or co-worker. However, special issues arise when third parties are involved, such as a customer, vendor, or individual with a special relationship to the plaintiff / charging party. We will explore scenarios and recent cases involving customer bias, third-party harassment of employees, and employees witnessing and reporting alleged harassment of their coworkers.
